Eisele Gallery presents- The Great Outdoors: Plein Air & Landscape Paintings. An exclusive online collection of paintings that capture the beauty and sprit of the natural world.

As we find ourselves adapting to social distancing many have taken the opportunity to explore the outdoors. Artists have always found inspiration in the parks and natural areas around them. Plain air painting is a technique practiced in open spaces - Artists have long painted outdoors, but in the mid-19th century, working in natural light became particularly important to the Barbizon school, Hudson River School, and Impressionists.* Using a box easel or field easel the artist can transport the canvas or board and all the needed supplies to the outdoors and capture the light and composition true to the time and place of the scene. Celebrate the outdoors with us and enjoy a collection of paintings inspired by local, regional and international parks and recreation areas.
