Description: While driving up the ‘Road to the Sun’ I was stopped by a twelve foot high wall of snow blocking the road. You might expect that for early May at Glacier National Park. I got out of the van to look over the area looking for a good place to paint while my wife and two friends took a hike. I set up my easel and began painting quick plein air pieces. Each time I completed one I would rotate a few degrees and paint another. After a few hours I had several small paintings lying all around me. I was in what I call ‘flow’ time! When the others returned they were amazed at the work I did. I was so into my painting I didn’t even realize I was in bear country.
